Ethic Sports Foundation launched KGBV (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya) Boxing Academy for Girls in collaboration with the District Youth & Sports Office Mahabubnagar on 23rd June 2018.
This joint initiative between Ethic Sports Foundation & the district youth & sports office will be catering to the boxing training needs of 250 Girls aged from 14 to 19, shaping up talent and promote self defense training in the region.
“Besides a boxing academy, the district youth & sports office has plans to setup Handball, Archery, Basketball, Volleyball & football academies for girls“, says Satyavani, District Youth & Sports Officer of Mahabubnagar.
Ethic Sports Foundation has sponsored the setup of professional boxing coaching centre which can accommodate up to 50 trainee’s in one shift. NIS Qualifed Coach Mr. Venu to facilitate Professional Coaching amongst the locals.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Omkarnath Yadav, Former National Coach from Telangana cited examples of the leading women boxers from the state and how they used such opportunities to rise above and represent the nation at an international arena.
This is the sixth Boxing centre for Ethic Sports Foundation & 1st Centre for women where free coaching is being imparted to the poor. Centre’s at Asifabad, Mancherial, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy (Telangana) & Roorkee (Uttarakhand) were sponsored earlier to facilitate Free Sports Coaching for the underprivileged students.
